Prophecy about Venus

“Beware how they await the sunrise… then they fast and yell for help in prayer.  They gazed upon the dawn, looking towards sunrise. They carefully tracked the Evening star, the Great Star that offers its light at Sun’s birth. They looked into the Sky’s and Earth’s womb.”

Popul Vuh (Thomson)

In Maya’s Mythology, Venus is not the embodiment of feminine symbol of erotic love, but the embodiment of the Dark Planet, Mars in Maya’s vision and also a manifestation of Quetzalcoatl. Violent and mean Gods are related to the Evening and Dawn Star and Venus’ cycles predict drought, danger and war. The prophecy is obviously one which predicts an inevitable struggling situation.

The prophecy about Venus, especially in terms of the planet’s transit over the solar disk, talks about a taught period, a period of transition, both for us and our planet. The prophecy reminds of an original catastrophe, which associated with the apparition of Venus, gives it the name of “dark planet”. Likewise, it is mentioned the practice of human sacrifice as means of removal of the violent and negative influences. As a result, in our final baktun, those who die in wars could be considered offerings for Venus, the price that must be paid for the salvation of our civilization. In a broader meaning, the prophecy asks for self sacrifice, not through suicide but through self control in face of society’s and planet’s problems. In order to balance these dark forecast, we should concentrate on the galactic synchronization from 2012 solstice when, at 6th June, Venus shall cross over the solar disc. Due to the association of Venus with Quetzalcoatl, the passing must be understood as a visual apparition of the feathered serpent. For contemporaneous Maya’s learners, this element indicates a cosmic initiation, the moment when solar activity reaches its pick and generates other forms of energy upon Earth.
