Katun 2 ahau shall be the first katun of the new era that shall follow the winter solstice from 2012. Key of this prophecy is “it’s the end of God’s word”; what sustains life shall be halved. In previous Katun 2 ahau there were great spiritual and ideological crisis and this prophecy warns about a new imminent one. Its possible cause is the undermining of traditionally inherited spiritual authority through a technology that replaces human natural faculties. The end of every Maya era or of every sun is marked by a great natural catastrophe.
